3 OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM AND COMPETENCE
3.1 Basic objectives
The basic objectives of the study program are:
- to acquire up-to-date, in-depth and sufficiently broad professional-theoretical and practically applicable knowledge for independent professional work in the automotive industry,
- to develop enterprising qualities, skills and behavior, as well as a moral and ethical sense of honesty, precision and conscientiousness at work,
- to form confidence, creativity and determination for business decisions,
- to qualify for business organization, management, organization and control of work processes and monitoring of commercial and financial operations,
- to be able to develop company goals and strategies and implement appropriate measures,
- to ensure quality of work, health and safety, environmental protection and fire safety,
- to train for critical thinking and understanding of the importance of learning as a lifelong process,
- to be able to monitor the development of the profession, professional literature and continuous professional development,
- to qualify for teamwork and work with people.
3.2 Generic competencies
Within the study program, the student will develop and acquire generic competences so that he/she will be able to:
- monitor the development of activities and formulate proposals for updating work processes,
- integrate knowledge from different fields,
- obtain information and use it in the business process,
- take care of development and innovate in work processes,
- communicate with colleagues and business partners in the domestic and international environment,
- master entrepreneurship, marketing and logistics processes,
- manage business processes and ensure quality,
- plan and implement measures to improve the organization of the company, the work of others and its own work,
- take responsibility.
3.3 Specific occupational competences
Within the study program, the student will develop and acquire vocational-specific competences so that he/she will be able to:
- solve professional problems in the field of automotive engineering and technologies,
- formulate and implement development ideas and entrepreneurial planning in the automotive business,
- apply financial, business, banking, tax, customs, and insurance legislation,
- find and use the necessary information in catalogs, manuals, technical manuals and electronic databases,
- plan and carry out the furnishing of workshops and the maintenance of tools, appliances and equipment,
- perform diagnostics, controls, measurements on motor vehicles,
- perform motor vehicle adjustments and repairs,
- design and implement changes to the characteristics of motor vehicles,
- communicate with customers,
- monitor and apply legislation, standardization, type-approval, certification in the field of motor vehicles,
- prepare and introduce internal instructions and documentation,
- introduce quality assurance systems.
4 DURATION OF THE STUDY AND EVALUATION WITH CREDIT POINTS
The study lasts two (2) years.
The study program is evaluated with 120 ECTS credits.
5 ENTRY CONDITIONS
Anyone who has passed the general or vocational matura or has completed the relevant education according to the previous regulations or has passed master’s, foreman’s or manager’s exam, three years of work experience and has passed the knowledge test in general subjects to the extent specified for vocational matura in secondary vocational education can enroll in post-secondary studies.
6 SELECTION CRITERIA IN CASE OF ENTRY LIMITS
Applicants who have completed a grammar school or other secondary professional education program (including a five-year program, a secondary or continuing vocational education program) or a vocational course will be considered on the basis of the sum obtained by a factor of 2 multiplied by the grade points of the overall grade-point graduation, professional graduation or final exam (expressed in points and converted to a grade from 2 to 5), and grades of overall success in the 3rd and 4th year or last two years of high school.
Applicants who have passed the master’s or manager’s or management exam will be summed up for by a factor of 2 multiplied by the marks of overall success in the master’s or foreman’s or manager’s exam (expressed in points and converted to a rating scale of 2 to 5), and marks in the test of knowledge of Slovene language with literature and mathematics or foreign language.
